Cardinals

We will teach you the cardinal numbers in the format: number in digits - number in letters - pronunciation. What are the cardinal numbers in English? They are those that allow us do operations: add, subtract, divide ... Let's start with the first two tens. These numbers are the main ones and you should understand them very well.

After 12, the numbers follow a pattern in their writing: they end in "Teen". And they have the format (number + teen) with some exceptions like 13, 15 and 18.

After 19 comes another pattern: the ending of round numbers with "Ty." For example, the number twenty in English is written twenty. They keep the same previous format (number + ty), again, with exceptions. Within that group enter 20, 30, 40, 50 and 80, as shown below.

To write other numbers, you will have to follow the format (round number + one-digit number).

The years in English

In that case it is accepted to place the word hundred or centennial. Now pay attention to the last two examples, notice that there is an "oh" instead of "zero". Decimals in English

Fractions in English
